A1534 - 820-00045 no power

Hi,

I have an A1534 - 820-00045 that has no power.

It puls 5.15V and 0.05A from ampmeter, but only with one side of the USB. Already tried new power flex cable but with same result.

PPBUS_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS = 8.59V
PPVBUS_E85 = 5.1V
PPDCIN_G3H = 5.1V
PP3V3_G3H = 3.3V
PP3V3R3V0_AON = 2.940V
PPVRTC_G3H = 3.2V
PP5V_G3H_LDO = 4.9V
PP5V_S4 = 4.9V
PP3V3_S5 = 3.2V
PP1V05_SUS = 1.055V
PP3V3_SUS = 3.2V

PP5V_S0 = 0V and 0.420 on diode reading.

I do not recommend bothering with this MLB.
All of them end with dead CPU.
Then client comes back to you, even your repair wasn't CPU related...

Client says it stoped working. He shut it down at night, and in the morning it was dead.

Is there any way to be sure it is CPU?

Check diode mode to ground on all coils; compare with good board.
Difficult to diagnose CPU, if you don't get some bad readings related with CPU.

No S3 line has voltage present.

yes,

PM_PWRBTN_L drops from 3.2V to 0.358V, when triggering SMC_ONOFF_L

Then PCH problem.
Check its RTC signals, if you want to spend more time.
