A2141 - 820-01700 - DiskOnKey not working

Hi all,

i got a a2141 that came to me with a problem that DOK'S don't work on the right side type c connectors , on the left side they works OK.
found that CB709 was shorted, replaced it from a doner and now it power on the DOK but it show an error "usb accessory needs power".
tried to replace also UB700 & QB701 still the same.

will be happy for help , thanks in advanced.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Do you get 5V at LB700?
If not, check UB800's voltage at pins 15, 17 & 19.
Remember to have an USB device connected on right side.

LB700 Got 5v.
also want to add that charging working on all ports.
the problem now that the mac recognize the DOK(on the right side ports) but show an error "usb accessory needs power".
on the left side all good , only the right side give the error

Edit:
After more diagnostics, when I connect dok usb2 it work and no errors.
The issue happen only with usb3 dok.

Then you have to check USB 3 lines of right ports.
Compare diode mode readings to ground between left/right ports.
S-UEM2 tool can help you in this case.
