A2159 820-01598-A no power

Hi,

I have an A2159 820-01598-A with no power.

It pulls 5V from ampmeter and 0A.

PPBUS_G3H is shorted. It has 0.002 on diode reading.

PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3HRTC is also shorted with the same readings.

Can I inject voltage there?

How can you ask this after many years?
Check if any coil gives you the same reading as PPBUS_G3H.
If none, then is safe to inject voltage.

Sorry for so many questions, but I prefer to be sure before doing worse. I'm stiil learning this.

L7210 and L7220 have the same readings.

Remove U7210/20, one by one.
See when the short disappears from PPBUS_G3H.

After removing L7210 the short is gone, and PPVCC_CPU_PH1 seams to be shorted.

Shall I replace R7210?

Low resistance on CPU core may be normal; compare with good board.
CPU can be dead now, but you can try changing U7210.

Hi,

I've replaced U7210, but now I only have 12.30V on PPBUS_G3H, and still 5V on ampmeter.

12.30V because T2 doesn't control it yet.
Do you get 3V3_G3H?
Also check SLPS2R and AWAKE voltages.
If present, try DFU revive.
