Hi.

I have an A2159 820-01598 with no power. It takes 20V from ampmeter, but 0A (board alone)

ppbus_g3h - 12.59v
pp3v3_g3h - 3.297v
pp1v8_g3s - 1.8v
pp5v_g3s - 5.1v

pp3v3_s5 - 0v
pp1v8_s5 - 0v

No big coils seams to be shorted.

Can you help?

Hi.

Client said that it started to felt problems with the keyboard, and now it doesn't power on at all.

I didn't try DFU, because it didn't had any power consume (0A). I'll try it.

Did you test disconnecting trackpad/keyboard?
Also disconnect Touch ID.

Yes I've done that, and disconnected all. Even with the board alone it takes 0A from an original charger.

Hi.

DFU restore worked. Now the Mac powers on, but I can't install OSX with external disk, neither from recovery menu (doesn't go to recovery menu).

When trying to boot to an external disk, it says that security settings doesn't allow it to boot from external devices.

I've managed to enter in Target Disk Mode, and formatted the disk successfully, but still can't install macOS on it.

Can you help with this?

T2 machines don't allow USB boot by default.
And you can't reach security settings without entering recovery.

Erase SoC ROM and try again DFU restore.
Don't forget to make backup first.
