Hello everyone.
I am working on the above macbook with liquid damage around U5200 area.
Device was dead in the first place with severe corrosion from Q5230 down to Q5265.
Cleaned the area and fixed a couple of broken pads and replaced U5200, Q5230, Q5240 (from a 820-02536 donor)
Now the macbook works but only when battery is connected.
It is not charging though and the battery shows 1% and no amperage draw through magsafe nor type c.
If battery is disconnected i see 20v loop on the ammeter and no chime.
If I remove R5260 then it works from the charger.
I have the exact same working one here so already ruled out battery and also swapped the board to the good housing and tried to restore.
I get an error "gave up waiting for device to transition from port dfu state to dfu state. 0xFCA (4042)"
What about that? I tried to replace the U5200 from the known good and device didn't turn on at all with that chip.
All major voltages measured good and compared to the known good board.
Battery connector SCL/SDA good.
Any suggestions ?
TIA
