I'm having a hard time finding an affordable/reliable vendor for the LP8550 with the "dot" (D71B?) instead of the "diamond" (D68B?) logo for pin 1, which I assume has programming (compared to the diamond-logo/D68B chip). I bought 100 a year or so ago, and have just run out. All I have left are the D68B variety, but these chips seem to have a clunky backlight adjustment functionality. The D71B chips have a very smooth (normal) adjustment functionality.
Anyone else notice this? I can find the D71B chips...but they're $5.00/each compared to $1-2.00/each for the D68B. Just curious if anyone has any input, or link for a vendor who sells the D71B variety.
