Apple MacBook Pro / Water Damage / 20V 1.4a /

Hello,

We have an Apple Mac Book Pro with an 820-01700-A board that had water damage on U9580 and C9580, we replaced U9580 and removed C9580 and the board now uses 20v and 1.4a and then loops back down to 0a 20v.

Checking under our Thermal Camera the SSD Chips heat up to around 70c~80c in around 10-15 seconds, what is the probability of the chips being shorted?

Would the Board use 20v if the chips are shorted?

Regards,
Zeydulla.

NANDs shouldn't go so hot as you mentioned.
Lift L9580/1 and check diode mode to ground on SSD side.
Compare with good board, or other MLB side.
