Brand New Macbook Air 13" A3240 Keyboard not working

So I got one of the latest A3240 air's in for repair this week. Fault is liquid damage and whilst I have cleaned up everything the keyboard is not working.

Areas of Liquid damage:
Board where keyboard plugs into 820-03638
Audio Jack
LAS Sensor Cable
Power Button / Touch ID Cable

I've checked and can confirm no liquid damage on the logic board or the trackpad board.

Fault at present is i've got working audio, working touch ID, working LAS sensor, working trackpad but nothing from the keyboard at all. I've tried a keyboard from the 2022 Macbook Air which seems to have the same connection but that too doesn't work so i'm unsure if that's incompatible or an indication that changing the keyboard would be a waste of time?

I know it's a long shot with the machine being so new but any advice would be appreciated

So would you change the keyboard or the daughterboard or both? None of the keys work trackpad is clean no liquid damage and works normally?
I'm trying to avoid charging the customer for more than they need!

This I know but in this case trackpad is clean and hasn't seen a drop of liquid - I took it out and examined it carefully under microscope. The daughterboard which the keyboard connects to however was liquid damaged but all other functions work - lid sensor, audio jack etc.

Are you saying that you think it is still a trackpad issue even though the trackpad didn't get wet and is working otherwise?

Given i'm the first person to open it and haven't replaced either of those I think we can be sure that what is fitted into it at present does match the machine model!

Looks like i'll have to order the keyboard and daughterboard from China and hope that fixes the problem. I'm unimpressed with Apple's Self Service repair option price for a top case with both parts!

So I got the parts from China today and have done some experimenting:
1) a new keyboard with the old daughterboard = same fault
2) a new keyboard + daughterboard = works fine
3) the old keyboard + new daughterboard = works fine
4) A 2022 M2 Macbook air keyboard + new daughterboard = works fine.

So I can confirm that contrary to what you told me earlier that a 2022 Keyboard from the 13" M2 Macbook Air does in fact work perfectly fine on a 2025 M4 Macbook Air. The daughterboard which connects the keyboard can also fail in such a way which renders the keyboard inoperative but all other parts still working.
