Just wanted to see if anyone knows if there’s any software that can actually recover corrupted photos? There’s tons of click farm articles around but after trying 20+ bits of software and all of them doing jack I’m starting to think it’s not possible. I did find one that semi worked. Wondershare recover it. It removed the corruption but in turn turned a 4K photo into a 192x96 photo so pretty much useless.
I had my wd external hdd go tits up on me last week and at first it wasn’t being recognised by disk management. After some fenangling I got it to show up and it looks like the tables been corrupted as all the folder names have been changed to special characters and nonsensical dates. I managed to use aomei to clone the drive than use disk drill to recover 10gb so far but some of the photos out of that recovery are corrupted.
Also what recovery software do you guys have the most success with? I tried the easeus one and it found about 4gb in 20 minutes than nothing after that so I didn’t think it was very good. Then tried disk drill and that’s been going for 4 days now and found 10gb so far but says it’s got thousands of hours to go so I’m wondering if I should leave it to finish or look into another bit of software?
