Simply, does not wake from sleep. Must be hard reset. I have no idea at all with iMacs... Anyone please?

Could be anything. GPU is the most common issue on these. If it is anything else it is pretty hopeless. See if all hardware is present and working, camera/card reader/usb, etc. See if ASD picks up anything.
