2012-2013 are 2K
2015-2017 are 4K

The Retina (4K) came out in late 2015. 2014 should be the standard 2K res.

There is a slight difference it the backlight cable between 2012 and 2014. It will fit fit and work though.

Of course the 4K models have a totally different LCD.
