Ugh, 216-0729051 chip. There are MANY remarked fake chips around. I have had good results with these 2015 chips:

Golden chipset. Got many chips from them and all works perfectly. Great chips yes.
How do you know it is 9051? Everymac tells you it is HD 4670 and you know it is = 216-0729051?

Had some of these turn up today. Wasnt the 2015 chips in the advert, but some re-balled junk from 2009. Now got to open a case. Pisses me right off.

I know what chip it is because I have replaced dozens...... So I also know how often you get fake shit from China.

How do you tell which are fake once you receive them?

Obviously you can see if it has been reballed and is instant trash. If the chip is new but remarked you can only find out by trying it.

You can just tell by looking at the chip under a scope. There will be scratches on the die, also you can often see wicking marks between solder balls.

One give away is the advert will say +2015 manufactured date. Then the chip you get is from 2009 or 2010. These are all tell tale signs.
