I am writing this because my last post would not let me edit/remove/change headline. I have decided that my screen was just bad, and it was by chance that it burnt out as I was checking it out... works on a known good... fair enough. My problem is the Track Pad does not work, Have plugged in a new one, doesnt work. External works fine, internal old and internal new dont. I looked at as much of the circuit as I could, but everything seemed to check out. In fact 3.3 V is coming in at P1 and 5V on Pin 4 at J4800, anyone have any idea? I am so tired of this board. Also, the TBT circuitry is non-op... Does this matter? All other functions except TPad work... Any Suggestions?

I see no reason to test the temp. sensor data lines to the SMC here..... SMC will have no effect on trackpad operation as far as I know.
You will need to check all connections from the trackpad connector to U4801. Could be a bad connector or trace. Also verify 3 and 5V make it to the connector on the trackpad.

Just read and removed the original post. Screen is probably fine looks like the cable to me.

dukefawks, thanks for removing the original post. It was indeed the cable for the screen. My first hint should've been the semi-melted wifi/camera/lvds cable, plastic cover.

I am getting voltage on those two pins, wouldn't that indicate continuity? Any idea what could cause the higher voltage drop on pins 3 & 5?
Checking around u4801, would I just look for continuity with the connector pins?

larossmann dukefawks could not having new track pad in its spot on the palm rest make a difference? I tested a known good board at the connector right next to the subject at hand, and everything was identical at the connector.

All voltages are the same and behave the same. The clk pins build and release, build and release on both.

It should work outside the case at least somewhat.

Again measure all the connections in diode mode with a cable plugged in on the trackpad side and with the trackpad disconnected.
