I tried connecting just the board to display and trackpad . I tracked clicks but no external image.
I know the machine is on as I get Touch Bar when I connect everything
So I packed up the machine - connected an external ,monitor .
I get image externally - but it's behaving as if there is no display attached. Lid closing and opening have no effect.
Either the LCD isn't being detected or there is a sensor issue.
The fan goes high and machine switches off too - very slow as well.
The device doesn't boot up without the battery connected so voltages given up are invalid then?
U4802 output will be high, if no lid sensor connected; its pin 2 input is pulled-up by R4899.
Is normal behavior for an OR logic circuit.
With board on the desk, connect just trackpad, bat+charger and lid sensor (easy to remove it from case).
Then check IPD_LID_OPEN behavior approaching a magnet to the sensor.
When the signal goes low, external monitor should automatically get image; if internal LCD is also connected.
"The fan goes high and machine switches off too - very slow as well"
Check if any error pops up in diagnostic mode; if machine doesn't shut off then.
Try to retrive data in target disk mode, or DFU if needed.
Then check if DFU restore solve this problem.
"The device doesn't boot up without the battery connected"
This board requires 96/140W charger.
I think some people also reported on the forum, this model not always boot on charger alone (even if original).
IPD_LID_OPEN doesn't go low when approached by a magnet.
Even if the LAS has issue- shouldn't we get display without LAS connected ?
Was trying to getting into diagnostics but failed a couple of times and the machine just refused to start now.
PPBUS is shorted.
Let me remove the fuses and see. I hope the NANDs don't shit itself .
