Hi everyone,
I’m working on a MacBook Air A1932 that’s showing a very odd and blocking behavior.
The system takes a long time to boot, and once it does, it automatically logs into the guest account, ignoring the two existing user accounts.
From the guest desktop, the system is extremely slow and unresponsive. If I try to log out, the fan immediately ramps up to max, the screen goes black, and after a few seconds I get the typical crash screen (black background, gray text). The machine then restarts and returns to the login screen.
If I try to log into one of the user accounts, as soon as I start typing the password, the screen turns black, the fan spins up, and the system crashes and reboots, entering a boot loop without ever completing the login process.
I’ve already tested the logic board in a brand-new working chassis (known-good display, trackpad, battery, RIO), so I can confidently rule out any peripheral issues.
I also attempted T2 chip revive using DFU mode, but the behavior remains unchanged.
My main goal is to recover user data from the internal storage.
Has anyone seen similar behavior? Could this be due to SSD failure, corrupted file system, or even a T2 chip issue?
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated – thanks in advance!
