Macbook losing serial

Just want to know if anyone knows more about this... i have been seeing so many losing its serial. What causes it?

i guess it is caused by people who reflash bios just to rule it out. i actually do it on almost every PC Laptop i fix, but i always fix ME and serial number before i give it back to a client.
