Hello everyone,
I'm currently troubleshooting an issue with a MacBook Pro A2289.
It seems the charging circuit is partially functional—since the battery is charging—but the full power delivery to 20V is not occurring. I'm trying to determine why the main board isn't being supplied the appropriate voltage.
This is the first time I've encountered this specific behavior. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
I'm currently troubleshooting an issue with a MacBook Pro A2289.
- Upon initial inspection using an amp meter, I observed 0.2A at 20V, with the fan spinning briefly at startup.
- Following standard repair procedures from the board repair wiki, I replaced both U7710 and U8110.
- After the replacement, the MacBook now powers on, and the battery appears to be charging. However, USB-C input voltage remains at 5V (2.98A), and it does not transition to 20V as expected.
