screen compatibility?

was wondering if the 2012 13" retina screen is compatible with the late 2013 13" ?

No. Pinouts are different (check schematic)

13"

Late 2012 - Early 2013 - interchangeable
Late 2013 - Mid 2014 - interchangeable
2015 - one part.

Screen works but iSight cable is different.

i put the 2012 13" retina display on the late 2013 and no video no backlight, but when i put it back on the 2012 i get video and back light. (was gonna remove the panel and put it in the 2013 lid so i have the correct isight cable)

You cannot remove a retina LCD without destroying it. Never try to swap LCDs on retina/air unless the backlight is fucked and the LCD is useless anyway.
