[SOLVED]820-00138 powers on a few seconds then off/battery charge indicator shows on screen

Just got a 820-00138 today that was liquid damaged. LCI indicators are all triggered. Cleaned with alcohol and inspected through microscope for any burned evidence. When power is applied I get an orange light, fan spin and a battery charge icon on the LCD panel. After a few seconds it shuts down. No light on USB mouse when plugged in during start up. Haven't worked on one of these before so any pointers would be helpful on where to start.

Right ok. I'll source another battery and give that shot. Some measurements for the record:

PPBUS_G3H AT D7005 12.6V

PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER3V3_ISNS AT C7581 12.6V

PPDCIN_G3H AT C7130 18.7V

PP3V42_G3H AT U7090 3.42V

PPVRTC_G3H AT R1100 3.3V

PP5V_S5 AT C7505 5V

PP5V_S4 AT R8165 5V FOR 10 SEC THEN 0V

PP5V_S3 AT Q8050 5V FOR 10 SEC THEN 0V

PP3V3_S5 AT C8030 3.3V

PP3V3_S4 AT C8000 3.3V FOR 10 SEC THEN 0V

PP3V3_S0 AT U5430 3.3V FOR 10 SEC THEN 0V

Plug in the entire machine in the housing if the battery and cables are good and see if it powers on you might already have fixed it. If it does the same with the battery in the housing, then I'd try it with a known good battery.

Thanks all! I found a replacement battery and it started right up! Interesting how the battery is inline with the rest of the power circuitry. Makes things harder to troubleshoot if you don't have all of the necessary parts on hand. On the bench now running overnight to see if all is good then returning to customer.
