[SOLVED]820-00165 not detecting battery

Tried with known good batt and tried its own batt in another machine.

Pin 4 of batt conn SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL has a 3.3ohm (100k on known good board) measurement to ground.

Is it okay to inject 3.3v on this line to find the short?

Whats the best way of taking off the connector? there was corrossion surrounding it and the pin looks blackened.

I do have a replacement connector

ok, i would just clean the connector, but i doubt that is the issue. louis has lots of videos on video not detecting

trace the corroded pin, see where it goes

Bad SMC and/or ISL, remove ISL and check if resistance in data line goes high......

removed isl remains low

will try smc from donor

Hand reballed a smc from donor board and after 6 tries it finally all works.

Still waiting on stencils for proper reballing.
