Hello,
First of all, thank you in advance for trying to help me!

I have an 820-2838-A
It works from the battery just fine, but it doesn’t see the charger at all. The charger has a green light.
Without the battery I have no fan spin but still a green light in the charger
I tried a different charger but nothing. The DC in port looks ok, there is power coming through.
I have measured the following S5 rails and they are all present.
PPBUS_G3H
PP3V42_G3H
PP3V3_S5
PP0V9_S5
PP5V_S5

I’m not sure where to go from here, can you help?

Known good IO board and flat cable is the first thing to start with.

I don't have a spare one but I will find and try.
But the fact that all the S5 rails are ok doesn't mean that the IO board and the flat cable are working?

No, S5 will be there without the flat cable connected too. At this point you do not know if the charger is recognized really. Unless you can confirm the light will turn orange with a battery connected.
