[SOLVED]820-2914-B Keyboard and trackpad works for 1 minute, closing and openong lid makes it works again

This board is driving me crazy. Anyone experienced this kind of problem? The keyboard and trackpad only works for some time, then i need to close the lid to bring it back.

Both keyboard and trackpad are good, they work for like a minute or a bit more then both stop. I close the lid and open they get back to work for more one minute.

Working for a minute would not confirm the trackpad is good. Disconnect it and see if the keyboard keeps working, fans will run high though.

You are sure this is not a GPU issue and confirmed that an USB mouse is still working?

External keyboard and mouse works fine. When trackpad is disconnected fans spin normally. Now keyboard and trackpad only working in the efi boot drive selector. This board got reballed but I can turn off dedicated gpu in efi using fedora/grub.

Other issue: Computer goes to sleep after few minutes even when is told not to in preferences. Bad firmware maybe?

SMC_LID is the only thing that would put it to sleep. Check if it stays high.

Thanks for the input but my suspicion was right. Bad firmware, just installed Sierra on a test disk and it updated the firmware - problem gone.

Same problem happening again. Will check for the SMC_LID signal and get back with results.

Found corrosion near to the reed sensor. Cleaned and now it works perfectly. It also fixed blank screen, before the smc always thought the lid was closed so no image. Very strange cos it still showed a white screen. Fixed too anyway.
