[SOLVED]820-3115 Temp sensor issues

Issue: Mac runs very slow.
No drop or liquid damage I'm aware of, board has normal dust but overall looks good.
ASD continually fails the palmrest temp sensor test and the CPU thermal test. Fans spin up shortly after boot and stay on high.

Tested with different KG trackpads (and their respective flex cables), palmrest sensor fails remain. Tested with other batteries as well as I was changing the trackpad anyway, this of course made no difference.

Looking at the schematic and bv, I can't figure out which pin on J5800 is responsible for carrying the temp sensor signal. As I don't want to start a 3 hour wild goose chase, figured I'd come and ask here first: where do I start? :)

So that worked :D thanks John.
Wth...
From your experience is the display the issue or the connector on the board?

Yeah webcam is a POS. I'd say try another screen to rule it out (I've had screens be fine except the webcam cable be damaged) and if that doesn't work, I'd say leave it unplugged. Webcam is not worth messing with if it's board level unless the connector is physically damaged and causing the issue.

Alright, will try another screen tomorrow.
What’s the logic behind the cam interfering with the temp sensors? Would like to understand it.

That would be a question for Duke I'm not sure. I just remember seeing it cause it a long time ago on one of my boards

Tested with another screen and no issues there. Problem solved, thanks again!
Would still like to understand why/how this interferes with the temp sensors though, could you explain dukefawks ?
Really curious.

Ambien light sensor (ALS) and palmrest temp sensor share the data lines to comunicate with SMC....

SMBUS:SMC_2_S3_SDA
SMBUS:SMC_2_S3_SCL
