Good Day Forum family, ive got a 820-3787 that powers on perfectly and works with external display, however it does not display anything on the display asssembly, no backlight no display. Yes its a known good display assembly. What will i need to check with regards to this problem.

Shine a flashlight behind the Apple to make sure there is no image. Harder to see on Retina screens if there is a question mark folder or picture at all.

Check 5V on L8300 while powering on, is it coming high for a second or does it stay high? Liquid or messing around history?

Thanks for the help turns out the Display assembly had an internal short, which kept blowing L8300. Replaced assembly and L8300 all is working fine now. :)

Try swapping the cable on the old display before trashing it may be just the cable. Don't put power through swap cables plug it in and see what you get on backlight output in diode mode. If short, then throw away old display
