So there is no PWM signal. I have to ask again if you are sure this is a 2015 LCD assembly and if it was tested on a 2015 machine.

yes i used another customers board to check this screen and also my test screen and both were working , unless ive managed to blow both these screens but this board has now gone so i cant recheck the screens i have, i have rechecked the board and now im getting 1.47v at EDP_BKLT_PWM pin 8 of lcd connector, still 12.2v at pin 1

without lcd connected the readings are:
pin1=0.519
pin2=ol
pin3=0.543
pin4=0.543
pin5=0.669
pin6=0.757
pin7=0.758
pin8=0.705
pin9=0.808
pin10=0.559

Duke thankyou for your patience you put me in the right direction with the broken trace on the i2c_bklt_sda line which if i had done as i replied back to you with what i done ie pin 4 of the lcd then i would have saved myself hours of frustration, like a prize pratt i soldered it to pin 3 of the lcd connector, this week i have learnt alot about the backlight circuit and it reminded me why this site is worth every penny, thankyou and to aprendiz too :)
