Hey everyone,
I'm posint in the off-topic forum since this isn't technically a "board issue".
I have a pretty strange issue I've experienced w/ 2 different A2681 2022 MacBook Air 13" devices now.
The problem occurs after I replace the LCD panel on the screen assembly (panel only repair). After the repair and being assembled, I'll power on the device and you'll see the backlight illuminate, but the image on the LCD panel itself remains black. Once the keyboard backlights light up and the device boots to the macOS login screen, if I close and re-open the lid, then TADA.. The image comes up perfectly and the device continues to function normally until it is fully shutdown again. I've discussed this with the vendor and at first was told this was an issue with the lid angle sensor, but I've replaced it on both and the issue continues to occur. Also, the angle sensor functions perfectly when the lid is closed or opened (the backlight turns off and on when you close and open the screen respectively) so I don't think it has anything to do with the lid angle sensor. The issue returns when the device is fully shutdown or restarted, and you can always get the display to function perfectly by just closing and re-opening the lid after the device boots up.
Does anyone have any suggestions or know why this is occurring? It seems to only happen on certain A2681 MacBook Airs because I've repaired several and only 2 have had this issue.
I have a Google Drive link I can add of a video showing exactly what's happening.
Thank you!
