Unable to activate Mac during macOS instillation

Good day guys , I hope you all are doing okay , a big thank you in advance to all of you, for always readily providing support here .

So I have started to see a wave of MacBook Pro come through the lab for macOS installation, T2 based macs only , and they are always stuck at a message that reads “THE OPERATION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED. ACTIVATION LOCK STATUS COULS NOT BE DETERMINED BECAUSE THR ACTIVATION LOCK SERVER COULD NOT BE REACHED. TRY AGAIN IN FEW MINUTES “

I have done everything that I know on all this machines, which , ask owners to provide proof of purchases, provide me with the Apple ID and password on the device , I then log into to the Apple ID to confirm the device is indeed same with the serial number, and sometimes asking client to sign out of the device , but this still never helps , beyond getting passed this issue , I just want to understand what’s going on, because I have no clue what the issue could be since I can almost day for certain, this isn’t an issue of a failed hardware, please find images attached below, thank you.

I have seen this happen when someone tries to get around the activation lock by changing the serial number in the T2 rom chip (U4770) on the board. You can change the serial number on this chip but when you try to activate it, you get this message because the serial number does not match with what Apple has on their activation servers I believe. Check if U4770 shows any signs that someone removed it or tampered with it.

Thank you @tcampbell34, not only one Machine? Have had more, and my fellow technicians about 2 shops forwarded me the same issue, one of them just left here not too long ago with the same issue on a 2018, A1990, myself have had it on a MacBook Air and a 16inches and an A1990

First of all, welcome to the forum!

The Mac MUST be first DELETED from corresponding Apple account.
At least that worked for me!

BTW, for the future, open new threads with your problems...
