Common issue that still has no clear solution. The 3 CPU FETs are my first suspects and I have a few test cases out there right now.
No idea what you mean.
I replaced CPU FETs and hope and pray they are not coming back. Not proven repair yet.

Look at the FETs and you will understand that you can only go with the original ones.
Mine is still out there, so seems ok so far.
Duke, how are you checking if they're sanded? I just got in 40 chips and they look pretty good, but do have extremely light "scratches" (1 or 2, about 1/6th the width of the chip itself) on random areas of the top surface; not concentrated towards edges or anything. The bottoms look pretty good, very clean, but with 1 or 2 "imperfect" marks on the bottom of each. Hard to tell if they're from being pulled or not. Edges are all perfectly crisp, no chipping or signs of scuffing, etc. I can post photos if you would like.
Mine had different date codes and the edges were a bit crumbled. Also the pads on the sides of the chip should all be copper colored.
