Hello dear forum friends,
We all know that Apple hasn't always been perfect when it comes to Mac design, and that many failures could have been avoided — and often even seem intentional. I'm thinking in particular of the screen connectors, with the backlight placed right next to the internal...
Hi mates ! I received a MacBook 14" A2442 at the shop this week that is not able to stay on, when you press the power button you can see the screen for 2 seconds, no trackpad neither keyboard activity, and screen goes black again. When the hinge sensor is unplugged, it works fine. After further...
I have a MacBook that turn on fine, it is able to log in session sometimes, and instantly after it does pink screen for a second and restart, does it in loop. Sometimes it restart before the OS is fully loaded, and sometimes it is able to stay on several hours.
Historic : the MacBook fell flat...
Well understood. I don't know how the DFU could suddenly be completed if I don't change anything on the board, is it kind of mystic shit ?
Joke besides, I ordered SSD voltage regulator (U9000), worth the try, I'll keep you tuned on this.
Hi 2informaticos,
Here are the SSD voltages that I have :
PP2V7_NAND_SSD0 : 2.5V --> It seems I have a short there, 60ohms seems not right for this rail, I don't have a board to compare but on a A1706 board that is similar I have way more
PP1V8_SSD0 : 1.8V
PP0V9_SSD0 : 0.9V
Hi people !
I have a very clean board there, no liquid damage, that doesn't turn on. It seems it overheated around T2 Chip, on the back of it some resistors are kind of brownish (maybe it's just baked dust, IDK). I tried to restore T2 Chip but it is not enable to complete the process, always...
Hi 2informaticos,
Thank you for your reply ! R6950 was missing, probably knocked off as you mention it, and indeed R6910 does not exist on schematics, but it does on the boardview, very strange. On the boardview it is the resistor next to Q6950, connected to his pin4. I can't find anything to...
I've tried none of these so far.
So, diag mode freeze after 1 minute, can't finish it, as the internet recovery. Boot in safe mode has same result as normal boot, crash immediately at the beginning of the loading. Finally, Target Mode does not work, I have 2 logos on target screen (power and...
Hi !
This board come from a A1706, not turning on, that has been lightly liquid damaged, but at the wrong spot. Indeed, oxydation was on right side of U7210 (pin 1 to 5), and also on C7433, nothing too big here. The rest of the board was in good condition.
I replaced U7210 and C7433, then the...
Hi people,
Here I have a strange case from this A1990. It came from an other shop, and was initially took in charge for battery replacement because it was inflated.
When I took it in charge, The Mac run fine on battery and also on charger when battery unplugged, but It has a charging issue...
Hi 2informaticos,
Thank you for your time, I had to give the MacBook back to the customer as I was not able to find the problem quick enough. We'll never no what was the problem on this one.
We can close this thread.
See you soon
I am 100% sure, using the same multimeter for years now. But it is not the first time I see such high values in diode mode, isn't it supposed to be in a range from 0v to 2v ? Looks correct to me. Do you have a 820-01041-A board to compare values with me ?
As I already changed U7000 previously without any change, maybe the problem comes from the T2 Chip. Does a reflow worth the try ? Is there a tool to reflash these thing as we can do with BIOS and Medusa ?
The exact PPBUS_G3H is 12.4V when there is only adapter connected.
Regarding SCL/SDA lines :
SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SCL = 1.18
SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SCA = 1.16
I2C_PWR_SCL = 0.47
I2C_PWR_SCA = 0.47
Usually, 12.4V means bad SMC or bad...
