Actually some of these guys doing cheap work are on this forum and do genuinely attempt to do the work properly. The fact that I have repaired three of their failures in the past few months is something else entirely. The reason I posted this hear is because I know they will see it.

Actually, if I flex the board in different ways sometimes it turns off backlight and sometimes the image too. I'll try that today. I've not tested it. I'll flow the mux first.

Hang on, PPBUS is at 19 fucking volts!, that's with no batt. I'll sort this PPBUS voltage out first. Then it drops to 8.15 with batt connected so I guesss it's loosing comms with the SMC. To answer your question though, yes 3V42 is there with batt connected.

Hi. Got this machine in, no liquid at all. Was no green or orange. Was no PPBUS Was 3V42 Changed ISL and board powers, POSTs and boots and has green / orange but only with no battery. Connect battery and green LED flickers a little. That's it. About to start checking current sensing. Any clues ?

It was dropped. Who knows what little pad could be hanging on by a thread, or not hanging on at all. I don't have the experience of some of the guys here but what I do do (lol, do do) is refuse to touch dropped machines. Even if you can fix all rails and get a fan spin. What if it goes beep...

AirFlow Sensor CPU, Platfor Controller Hub, S2 Cam proximity sensors. And charger but I guess that could be because no charger is plugged.

Yep. First thing I tried was trackpad. Diagnostic says SMC..... I'll sort the issue but my question is really about iStat. I was kind of just wondering how iStat menus works as I have seen people on the forum mention using it to find sensor issues.
