**Theoretically** Couldn't you pull a dying GPU off of a board and run it on Integrated GFX?
Never done this... Probably never will, But would that work? Wouldn't it see no GFX chip and run it off of intel hd gfx?
One of these days I will try and modify one to do this if it's not...
On stuff like this i'd say throw it in the UC and see if it is fixed....
But you said you tied BKL PWM to S0? Why? Was it missing? Maybe the PCH was screwed up and is even screwed up worse now? Maybe some corrision under it?
Always replace the FETs and ISL at the same time. And yes.. The fets screwed up the ISL and that's why it's not working. New ISL and new fets and try again.
Well PPBUS_G3H generation is simple... Pulsing is usually current sense but can be the ISL telling the FETs to do funny things and sometimes it's a combo of all three.. If current sesne is OK replace your 6259 and the FET's controlled by it Q7030 and Q7035 I believe.
820-2914 came in with what appeared to be no VCORE. Checked PPVCORE_S0_CPU and it was 0.97V.. SPI termination resistors OK as well. PMSLP_S4_L was missing, However I replaced the Clk chip and it was restored. ALLSYS Power Good present.
**THIS BOARD HAS NO LIQUID DMG**
The CPU gets hot as...
Your issue was never with the PCH or backlight circuit. Your PWM is missing because it think's it's sleeping. Try a new Magsafe board as that has the sleep sensor on it.
That could be it... Sense ACOK and PPBUS is ok it's probably not the ISL. You can get rid of the corrosion under the ram by putting a lot of flux around them and giving them a light reflow...
