This MacBook was originally water damaged. I cleaned it and replaced the left I/O board. With the bad left I/O board, the backlight would flash at startup and then turn off and stay off. Replacing the left I/O board solved the backlight issue.

I have a board that suffered a liquid spill 9 months ago. Board did not have any heavy corrosion, was surprisingly clean.

Louis, you are a genius! There was a little bit of corrosion that I missed right under U5110. I removed U5110 and PIN 8 that goes to PP3V3_AVREF_SMC is gone.
I'm guessing I'm going to have to run a wire since the pad is non existent.
This MacBook was liquid damaged. After cleaning, no components were replaced as everything other than a few keys on the keyboard was working good.
I ordered a replacement topcase, and after installation, the power button doesn't work and the fan is running at full speed.

I have two 820-3115 boards that have RAM slot issues. The bottom slots are bad so the MacBook works with one stick of RAM in the upper slot. When RAM is in the lower slot, it beeps and does not post.
What are my options? I'm not sure if this is repairable or if it's just a waste of time...
Although I still want to build a fume extraction unit with a filter, I have taken a different approach. I'm going to vent everything outside. Going to cut a hole in the wall, and connect an inline fan.

I do not have a BGA rework machine. After seeing the the size of the U1800, I think this may be a project for another day once I get proper equipment.
