ok so after replacing r7021 and r7022 with good ones from another board
i plugged it in and instantly they blown and went bad again..
i pulled everything on the line between pins 27 and 28 and the short was still there
so finally it was clear, the ISL is bad!
i replaced the ISL with a new one...
ok after some more measuring
r7021 and r7022 reading o.l and 37k ohms
bad resistors? need to go along with the isl or just those?
could make sense that this the problem?
btw, the reason for not having green light is probably because the dc in board.
couldn't get another dc in board but...
i have no u5110 on this boardview or schematic for 820-3332
on u7000
pin 1 = 0.028v
pin 2 = 16.41v
pin 3 = 1.51v
pin 19 = 5.39v
pin 20 = 5.43v
pin 9 = 0.033v
pin 15 = 0.060v
pin 27 = 0.031v
pin 28 = 0.032v
resistance between pin 17 and 18 of the isl (u7000) is 4.1 ohm
resistance between pin...
hello
working on a 820-3332-a logic board
looks very clean, no liquid damage, under the microscope couldn’t find anything that looks bad…
the board is dead, no light on the charger..
on F6905 i get around 16.73v on each side
ppbus_g3h is 3.295v
PP3V42_G3H is 3.393v
resistance to ground...
strange enough
looks like the board is in s0 state, the little led on the bottom is glowing when connected
also, having 1.69v cpu vcore...
but no image on display (connected the display and charger only)
and also no chime on speaker...
this is the first time working on this board
is it suppose...
hello
working on a a1543 820-00045 logicboard
no liquid damage anywhere inside the machine
when connected to charger does not power on, no response to keyboard
trackpad is putting out force touch feedback when connected to the charger but no other sign of life..
pulled out the logicboard and...
ok
managed to reset pram with an external keyboard
now i get a chime on the speaker connected but still the fan spinning fast
install to a case and reset smc? should be ok now?
hello
working on a liquid damaged 820-3476 a1502 board
get a light on the charger and the fan is spinning.
the fan is starting normally and after a few seconds increase speed almost to full speed...
the board has cpu vcore 1.8v and usb mouse light up
the liquid was around the dcin connector...
hi john
actually the one that was making the short was the other mosfet - Q7320, when i pulled him out the short was gone..
i replaced q7310 just in case.. does that make any diffrence? or still RIP for the cpu?
also,
i notice now that when i plug in the charger i get PM_SLP_S3 3.3v for a few...
hello
having a strange thing with a 820-4924 (diffrent one from the one solved a few days ago)
after liquid damage, had a hard short to ground on PPBUS_G3H
the short to ground was solved by replacing the two mosfets - Q7310 and Q7320 from a donor board..
now i get 12.54v on PPBUS_G3H.
still...
update:
i replaced u8080 again, seems like the one from the donor board was probably no good
like duke said - wasn't pulling the EN signal as it should..
i got the fan spinning and board is back to life!
SOLVED!
thanks to duke and JohnB...!
i can't read resistance to ground on P5VS0_EN, i think it's 0 (tried from pin 2 of u8080 and also from the c8187 pin) but didn't get resistance to ground..
is it worth trying to replacing the cap \ resistors on this line? i figure the EN signal will be created by those..
or try another u8080...
on L7520 i get pulsing between 5.08v - 5.11v
on L7560 3.32v on pin1 and pulsing on pin2 2.96-2.99
when i got it there was a little corrosion in the battery connector area
other than that it was pretty clean...
measuring on the fan connector and also pin 1 on r1845 with the with multimeter on 2000k resistance mode i get 074 (black probe to the fan and the red to ground)...
Hello there friends...
working on a 820-4924 liquid damaged board
got it cleaned so no visible signs on corrosion..
measuring around the board, appears to be getting 1.04v on pp5v_s0
s3 and s5 are there reading 5.10v
looking at u8080 is getting the input on pin 3 from s3 (5.10v) but the en...
