Thank you duke.
Diode mode to ground for SMC_FAN_0_TACH (R5665 pin 1) 0.56v
Voltage on SMC_FAN_0_TACH when turned on is 3.146v (both at probe point near SMC and on R5665 pin 1)
I replaced R5565, R5660 and R5661 again checked continuity round this area, no change.
Thanks for any help you...
Clean machine, no signs of liquid, boots up does not feel "jerky" when booting
From the moment the power button is pressed the fan runs 100%.
Tried Known good Battery, SSD, DC in, Dc in flex, Track pad, track pad flex and two different fans.
EFI Asd tells me : "Motor is running slower than it...
Thanks Duke,
Yes R6920 was initially burnt and was replaced.
q6910
pin 5/6 2.36v
pin 4 0.7v
pin 1/2/3 0.657v
replaced q6910 again in case donor board duff - no change.
R6910 99k
r6911 10.1k
r6912 68k
all measure within spec.
replaced c6912
R6910
R6911
no change
I concur that Q6910 is...
Thank you duke.

The probe point next to C6991 looks bad so i ran a wire from D6905 to C6991 and C6992 but this didn't change anything...
Thank you Duke. It was pin 7 of J6600 - showing diode mode of 0.2v vs 1.7 on a good board. Removed C6604, DZZ602 & L6607 - still had a short at pin 1 of L6607 - which went direct to U6201. A quick reflow of U6201 solved the problem. Thank you again, may mark as closed.
Hi There, i tried removing both (L6607 / L6608) - this set it to headphone mode in software. I then tried each individually but neither allowed the internal speaker option to show up. I then replaced the headphone jack but no change. Any further thoughts ?
Had a 820-4924 with bad liquid damage, Replaced a lot of things (whole U7100 area etc)
Now all working except that the speakers are not seen in software.
Machine chimes on start but only gives me Digital Audio out as an option in software (if insert headphones audio plays through them).
No...
Thank you Duke. Yes Vcore is also pulsing. J6100 was removed already. Board was clean apart from the damage trace and R6120 / R6121. I replaced area and ran a jumper wire. I've checked for continuity between all the termination resistors to the right of U6100 and the relevant pins. U1950...
Thank you for the reply.
PP3V3_S4 has trace voltage of 0.54v (unit powered on voltage mode multimeter)
Resistance to ground on PP3V3_S4 measured at U5750 pin 4 is 7Kohm diode mode voltage drop to ground is 0.356v
PP3V3_S4_EN 0v
Thanks for your replies, this apparently was at another shop before (joy).
Apologies PP5V_S5 is 5.01v, PP5V_S3 is 0v (copy paste went wrong)

Thank you Duke. Q7550 pin 4 was part of the problem (burnt underneath) - short follows back through Q7551 pins 1/2 - removed Q7551. Short still present on pads 7/8 - assuming CPU is very dead
Not liquid damaged (or very well cleaned)
Green light and pp3v42 present.
PPBUS_G3H - 1.7v with 0v volts to ground in diode mode
Removed fuses F7040 / 7041 short is on PIN2
Pin 1 with fuses removed is 12.56v so generation is working
Injected some voltage into pin2 got to 4.5v @ 8amp

I tried it with an external display with mirroring turned on.
When waking from sleep no image on internal or external.
Unit does wake up (S3 > S0) as i can turn the volume up / down and get a sound response / resume a youtube video (sound only comes through).
