Need some help on this one.
This one had extensive liquid damage around the usual CD3215 and U7650 area, but also around U7100 and U7800.
Initially, the USBC chips weren't good so swapped one of them from one from a donor, this made it ask for 20V again.
I've replaced U7800 because it was...
hi man, it should be listed under system preferences in macOS once booted up and logged in (which you can do from an external USB OS). There should be a separate System Preference panel that's called 'Profiles' (this icon only appears when the Mac is enrolled in DEP, and otherwise is not...

Hi there, no sorry i never got around to getting a proper flash dump from one.. i currently have 2 in the shop, but they're being picked up today unfortunately.. If one happens to show up, i can get a dump but don't know when that is of course.
Have you tried putting a chip from a donor on?
i have one that has the same symptoms. could you check to see if and when the GPU coils start having voltage on them? is it immediately on power-on or not?
sorry to use this thread for this question, but mine doesnt have GPU voltages, so am just asking to see where in the boot-phase it does that.
Like the title says: all displays I order in for the A1706/A1708 have missing Ambient Light Sensors.. Causes no keyboard backlight. Does anyone know of the reason, and maybe also a workaround, like permanently enabling the keyboard backlight?
OK, i dont know what happened, but i ordered a tool on wednesday and i got it in this morning, two days later (from the US to Europe).. I guess FedEx has some luck as well sometimes..
Anyway, without the CPU mosfets and coils on the board (because i desoldered them earlier) the drive is...
In most your posts, your translations really suck bad, try using better translators, or try harder, it's easier for people to help you out if your posts can be understood better..
SMCs should only be taken off of donors (same boardnumber) to be sure that they're compatible, as is posted on this...
Yeah the other board i have in has a 1,8 ohms resistance to ground there.. o dont have the data migration tool unfortunately. do you happen to know what is required to work on the board for the tool to do its job?
So I haven't applied power to this one yet, because i measured a short on ppbus. Turns out there was liquid under the mosfets for the 3 phases of CPU. So I removed those and the short disappeared. After checking resistance to ground on vcore, and removing all three CPU coils, i found that there...
Geez, so it decided yesterday to not boot up at all, it would draw 20v at 1,5amps, but then cut out.
I put my finger on the cpu and in the few seconds that it was drawing 1,5amps, the CPU got scorching hot... this is probably a fucked CPU...
sorry, should have added that info.
it had liquid damage.
Found some damage to U7000 area, replaced U7000 and this brought back the enable for pp3v3_g3h which was missing.
after that ppbus and 3v3_g3h came up, but board wasnt booting.
Then found corrosion under the 1v8 pad of C8028, which was...
