I think it depends which version of LP8550 you use. I had a strip where all of them were like that.. can't remember which type it was.

i have one that has the same symptoms. could you check to see if and when the GPU coils start having voltage on them? is it immediately on power-on or not? sorry to use this thread for this question, but mine doesnt have GPU voltages, so am just asking to see where in the boot-phase it does that.

Geez, so it decided yesterday to not boot up at all, it would draw 20v at 1,5amps, but then cut out. I put my finger on the cpu and in the few seconds that it was drawing 1,5amps, the CPU got scorching hot... this is probably a fucked CPU...
