Yes PRAM did no difference Customer just discovered the issue one day he needed to connect external display. Problem may have existed for longer time as machine seems to be working fine unless you plug in HDMI (or other Thunderbolt accessories according to my testing described below) I did...

    820-01949 freeze when HDMI connected

Here is another one with weird behavior. There is no liquid and no dust or debris. Board looks very nice. Machine runs fine. But when an external HDMI display is connected to USB-C (through adapter, dock or whatever I try) the machine starts to lag extremely much. It lags so much so it seems...

    820-02020 crashes when connecting power

Thank you very much Mr. Campbell for pointing me in the right direction. Failure is gone and the thread can be marked as solved. It was one of the amplifying IC’s that caused the issue.

    Time/date in T2 machine

The clock is not showed in upper right corner in the recovery system. But it is running as the date under Safari (run from the "Get help online"-menu) says April 15, 1976 today (yesterday it was April 14, 1976)

    Time/date in T2 machine

I have tried both. It can boot to internal recovery partition and to internet recovery system completely fine. I also tried booting to internet recovery both via LAN cable and Wi-Fi. In normal recovery (cmd+R): I can reach disk utility (disk is grey because of FileVault), Safari help system...

    Time/date in T2 machine

Yes. But if the clock gets adjusted then we can use Apple-id to reset the password. Now we cannot because Apple-id server rejects the connection because of wrong time/date.

    Time/date in T2 machine

How long time? Been waiting for half an hour now and still not automatically adjusted. Also nothing happens when i press "Open Date & Time" other than the button changes to blue. This is in Safari from recovery partition

    Time/date in T2 machine

Yes I have tried that. But time is not adjusted automatically. It can boot from internet recovery but the time is still 1976 after connecting to Wi-Fi.

    Time/date in T2 machine

Hello Can anybody tell me which chip stores the time and date in a MacBook Pro 13 A1989? And is it possible to program this chip with correct time and date via a chip programmer? The reason for this is that I have a customer that forgot the password for his FileVault enabled T2 machine and we...

    Slow file copying/ moving

These are very old machines. If hard drives never been replaced they are subject to failure because of normal wear and tear. You can check the hard drives with third party tools as DriveDx or Drive Scope or other S.M.A.R.T monitoring software. Also most of these machines were born with only 1 GB...

820-00165 fan spins - no boot

Actually it just came to life after i replaced the SMC (a panic action because i didn't know what was going on) Now I need to let it run to see if some internal shit is now working because of heating up or it actually was SMC malfunctioning

820-00165 fan spins - no boot

All termination resistors measure correct. Traces are good. J6100 looks perfectly clean. Like new. There has not been any liquid (or even high humidity) near this machine. Diode mode on U6100 pins with U6100 removed 1: 0.54 2: 0.59 3: 0.54 4: 0 5: 0.51 6: 0.51 7: 0.54 8: 0.39 Another U6100 is...
