check R7402/03 are good resistance and traces are good
having a 820-3115 board, minor spilled around u2600 area and near area.
so replaced u2600 and ultrasonic cleaned the board.
everything looks cool , no corrosion.
but board still the same condition when it was sent in. 1/4 fan spin, spin off, then spin on then off , repeat again and again.

my bad,in fact pp3v42 doesn't present most of the time when using genuine charger. even on F6905 there is only 2v , so saying even the charger is not outputting correct voltage? detected a short?
yes tried with a known good battery been using for repairs. ppbus around 9v.
the SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA jumping around 0.2-3v with or without battery. makes no difference
having a strange 820-2915 board here. previously it was fixed for the GPU replacement. and worked and tested.
2 weeks later customer returned and said no power at all. so we checked,
the machine can power on with DC power supplier or fake knock off charger. but not apple genuine charger...
machine got liquid spilled. no power , big area spilled and fixed. power on then got the typical battery not being detected with "X"
want to mention first, q7155 was shorted and bad, replaced. (previously board can't power on when battery inserted) .
ok , so
SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SCL=3.3v stable...
r5280 and r5281 were checked. don't see anything on the connector. but even I removed the SMC, the diode mode to ground resistance is still not right .
still 600+ on SMBUS_SMC_BSA_SDA
normal should be 400+
820-2915 ,battery "X" not being detected, not the simple cases usually encountered
Hi guys, having a strange 820-2915 board giving me headache.
problem is battery not being detected, thought should be a piece of cake as fixed a lot previously already.
usually only 3 things , which all had been...
I had a cleaned ME one, just changed the SN and flashed, tested all fine.
still wonder how a good machine would have the bios crashed all a sudden though, searched online a lot but didn't seem to find the answer? do you have any clues?
thanks
you are right! I flashed the bios and it booted up all the way and worked.
thought about it the first place and thought APPLE's bios doesn't crash much as other brands. rarely seen .(maybe 2 or 3 so far for these years)
I do wonder what made the bios crash?? (since i don't think there is...
that's the tough part, looks perfect fine physically, and machine seems never got worked on before.
we do see a dot or two of greenish stuffs on the side, but most likely just caused by the moisture
having tough time with this one, not sure if should risk replacing the PCH
