2018/2019 MacBook Pro 13" screen in 2016/2017?

Has anyone tried this? Even thought the pinout is different I have a feeling it would work. Trying to avoid blowing anything up though.

A2159 display compatibility

Hi, I've got a display that comes from a dead A2159 and I don't have another machine of that kind to test it. Physically it looks similar to the display of an A1708. Are they compatible parts ? Can I put it in an A1708 in order to test it ? And then, for the sake of completeness, same question...

Thanks, no conclusion with those threads so I'll probably have to just wing it and see what happens. I don't think anything will blow up so it should be fine.

I installed a 2017 screen into a 2018...picture was there but no camera.

Ah, the camera, bummer. Thanks for the info. I'm guessing going the other way would probably end up with similar issues.
