2018 820-01521 No image

Purchased this A1932 with a broken screen The crack is minor seems like i should still get an image, back light does turn on.
I disconnected the internal display and tried with an external display but cant get an image .
I have tested this setup with a A1534 and the external display will work with that.
Any suggestions to check if this is a bad Display or Logic board problem? i do not have another display to test with unfortunately.

Did you look at logic board, no liquid sign?
Possible cracked traces, if machine was dropped.

No signs of liquid damage. No signs of a drop looks like the crack was from something hitting the lcd its self. Not even a scratch on the body.

Backlight presence should mean board is booting, but is better to confirm USB activity.

Caps lock key lights up , track pad is activated and usb activity confirmed .

Crack is minor , usually I see a lot more cracks to not see an image.
cant explain why no external video though maybe it does not like my external display

Try another HDMI adapter.
Best way to test with known good working compatible LCD assembly.

Yeah will have to wait until i find one. Have you replaced many of these displays, is there any issue with the T2 chip?

I never replaced one.
As I understood, no T2 issue...

Just an update, As i thought it didnt like my old monitor its weird though because it works with a A1706 and A1534. Purchased a newer USB C monitor and it is now displaying an image with that.

Is time to test with 100% compatible LCD assembly...
