820-2915 that had black screen. Replaced GPU with known good 16+ GPU. Could never get it to chime even after multiple pram resets. After installing OSX the OSX would not fully boot. The backlit and progress bar would come on but last quarter of progress bar just stay frozen. It then died suddenly

Fan now only spins .5 seconds then off then on .5 seconds e.t.c

what to check first? All main power rails do not have a short.

Bios issue?

Waste of time as are basically all 2915 boards. Was this an Apple refurbished board?

yes black tape on ram slot with no serial number

Yeah probably busted trace in the board or a CPU issue

You can try disabling GPU with Medusa programmer.
Also try clean ME BIOS, just in case.
