820-00138-a detects battery but doesnt charge

Hi,

Got this mbp 15 water damaged. Changed ISL and some components. Now it's working but not charging the battery and doesnt run from battery.

I have already tried new one but same problem.

ISL on pins 17/18 27/28 is ok. PPBUS is 12.6 with battery disconnected and about 12,9-13 with battery conected ( 22% of charge).


SMC seems to be ok, no water damage in that area, what else can be checked please?

Post exact diode mode and voltage for SCL/SDA lines.
Check with o-scope, if possible.
Try another SMC...

I recommend to test with KNOWN GOOD WORKING battery first; even old, just to be sure.
Battery connector must be cleaned too.

About oscpope dont have it now. Already tried with good know battery. It recognizes battery, charge percent but doesnt charge and work from it. SMC must buy donor because i only have 3332. About battery connector it's cleaned.

Values look good.
Be sure to have good traces to pin2 10/11 of ISL6259.
Post its voltages, pins 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 26.
Also check traces and components of pins 5/6/7/8.
