820-00138 Not Charging

Voltage with battery is fluctuating between 11.3 and 11.7v (tested with brand new battery). Resistance of pins 17/18 of U7100 is 3.3 ohms.

Magsafe light flashing green/amber with battery?
Check now 3V42_G3H and PPBUS_G3H with only battery (no charger).

I do get green to amber with the battery plugged in. Voltages with only battery, no charger:
PPBUS_G3H 11.26v
PP3V42_G3H 3.43v

Amber light comes on without battery too.
You've said to get fluctuating PPBUS_G3H with charger and battery connected at same time.
I asked to check if Magsafe light color fluctuates then too.

Does the board turn on with battery alone?

Oh I see, sorry. No, the light doesn't fluctuate, it stays solid amber after turning from green.

The board does not turn on with battery alone, and while running with battery and charger if I disconnect charger the laptop shuts off immediately.

Can you get a known good battery for test?
Be aware, new chinese doesn't mean known good!

I have 2 in my stock right now that I've tried, I get mine from Mobilesentrix so I'm hoping they're decent quality

It is not same as known good.
I saw so many strange behaviors of bad new batteries, that you cannot imagine.

Very weird. Reassembled everything with the original battery the and it's charging properly now. Gonna test it over the weekend to make sure it's consistent but I think this is solved?! Thanks so much for the help! I feel like I'm slowly figuring things out.

Update: Genuine charger stops working after 15-20 seconds of charging, but a knock off charger charges fine.

Machine works with original charger, only stops charging battery?
Try another original 85W Magsafe 2 charger.
