If it is shorted, it would be smart to inject voltage just start low around 1 volt. Many many components on the C7592 side. If it's the PCH, it will be obvious.

Which is the exact ohm value at L7630?
You've told to have same board with shutdown issue.
Then compare resistance to ground between both boards.

Well now I have really done it !!!!
I took out ANOTHER working 00138 board from a completely working computer and mounted it in the clients computer just to be ready in time ... and ..... it is DEAD too !!!!
So now I have 3 dead boards 00138 and it is definately something in the clients computer that is killing them , this time I connected everything except the battery so the battery is excluded
from the suspects . Does any of you have some idea what it could be ????
I have to say that all pieces are working with the clients old board but it suddenly restarts from time to time and that was the reason I now have 3 dead boards all taking 17 miliampere and stone dead..
The things I reused are , the trackpad , the side board (the small board on the side ) the laudspeakers , and the fans .....
any ideas ....

None of them should cause such a fatal issue.
Did you test all boards on the desk, w/o any device connected?
Only need an USB mouse, connected to onboard port.

Check 3V3_S5/SUS.
Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for reaction at PM_PWRBTN_L.
Be sure to use original 85W Magsafe 2 charger!
