820-00165-A - Can't see battery.

This board originally had a liquid spill on pins 5 & 6 of the battery connector.
I cleaned it up and it worked again, till it came back with not seeing the battery.

J6950::5 = 0.052 (this is low to a similar board of a different model)
J6950::6 = OL

diode mode with no battery and charger i asume?
tested a differnt battery? (i think this is stil the battery that was in it when it got liqued damaged?)

ISL area

ISL area

Diode earlier above wit no charger or battery.
Tested with new known good battery.

ISL area looks clean and I never saw any damage there initially.

U7100::17/18 == 3ohms
That's too low right?

Q7155 ?
PPBUS_G3H (measure with battery only, and charger only and together)

Resisters you mentioned all measure correct.

Adapter Only
Q7155::1 = 8.19
Q7155::2 = 8.19
Q7155::3 = 8.19
Q7155::4 = 8.19
Q7155::5 = UNSTABLE

Bat Only
Q7155::1 = 8.05
Q7155::2 = 8.05
Q7155::3 = 8.05
Q7155::4 = 1.57
Q7155::5 = 8.05

Bat & Adapter
Q7155::1 = 8.19
Q7155::2 = 8.19
Q7155::3 = 8.19
Q7155::4 = 7.55
Q7155::5 = 155 - 165 mV - Unstable

Diode mode on both data pins on the battery connector? This is either a bad SMC/ISL6259 or crap under the SMC.

Ugh, my success rate of replacing ISLs is really low.
I picked up from one of your videos recently to press down to make sure the chip is snug and flat on the board before removing the heat.

Will try it with this board.

Without the ISL on, I get 0.141 in diode mode on.

So short is gone, that still seems a little low to me, but magnitudes of order better than we were.

I swapped the ISL, I get an green / orange light but now the board will only run off the battery.

When I plug the battery in, it boots up like it's on mains.

Any ideas?

Edit;
I reseated the ISL and we're back to not seeing or running off the battery just like before.

Take some old POS 820-2330 or something and practice removing the ISL and soldering it back on. When you can do that five times in a row come back to this one.

So is the issue poor soldering or is there another problem somewhere else?

Diode mode reads 0.141 which seems low still to me, I don't have another board to check with.

I guess you are with black probe to ground, in this case both data lines should give you OL reading, with red probe to ground (wich is the right way to do it), you should have about 0.500....

It reads 0.140 with the ISL removed too.

EDIT:
Replaced the ISL again with a fresh new one and now get a reading of 0.225

But Q7130 heats up a lot as soon as I add power. Could this be a faulty Q7130 or a symptom of another problem?

Q7130 does of course have a path straight to ground.
