I hope this "How to" collection will help our members. I will possibly modify this post in time, if updates available. Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L (PMU_ONOFF_L): It reffers to simulate power button function, when the keyboard is not connected. We need to do this when we work with the board...

You must make temporar contact; like pressing power button.

Check SMC_ADAPTER_EN, PCH_DSWVRMEN, PM_RSMRST_L, PM_DSW_PWRGD and the 4 PCH's RTC signals.

PCH_DSWVRMEN from 3.2 stay at 3.2
PM_RSMRST_L from 3.2 stay at 3.2
PM_DSW_PWRGD from 3.4 stay at 3.4

No, but both are embedded in the same package!

You didn't post any reading about it...

I was comparing 2 identical boards and I realized that on the board that doesn't work C1031 is shorted. I wanted to know if it was possible to understand if that is the problem

So the short is not on C1031, but Q7311/21.
U7310/20 can also cause short there.
I recommend to start removing Q7311/21 (one by one).
