820-00165 liquid, no fan spin but orange light [solved]

not sure if the SMC didn't survive the heat cycle or I messed it up, but I have no fan spin at the moment. SMC looks like its on perfectly under the microscope. Looks like I'll have to take it back off.

If this happened when reballed the SMC, you have a problem there now.
SMC is very resistant to heat; more likely bad solders.
Try a reflow and gently tap it...

Okay, I'll heat it up and give it a couple of taps and little nudges. Its dancing while at reflow

Nope, get green and orange light but no fan spin. I'll have to start again

Actually.. tried one more time and got fan spin back.. I now have screen active but no backlight.
I can see it booting OSX

So you get image now?
Post BKLT_EN/PWM.
Did you try PRAM reset (2-3 times)?

Swapped out LP8550. (looking at the state of the LVDS connector originally, I'm not surprised it was dead) now works perfectly.
