820-00165 PM_SLP_S4L missing

Just to be completely sure this is a no-fix:

Board won't power on, but takes ~ .17 A from the bench supply.
PPBUS_G3H = 8.58v, PP3V42_G3H = 3.42V

PM_SLP_S4L is low, so I followed the guide from OBData, all logic signals are as they should be.

The I checked all rails from S5 state (also from OBData), and found XDP_PCH_TMS to be around .6v, where it should have 1.05v. Pull-up resistor R1892 (50 Ω) is fine, 1.05v on the other end. PCH is warm, but not hot.

I think this is a bad PCH, have I missed something?

Best

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Do you get 3V3_S5 and 3V3_SUS?
Post basic signals, like PM_BATLOW_L, SMC_ADAPTER_EN, SMC_PM_G2_EN, PCH_DSWVRMEN, PM_DSW_PWRGD, PM_RSMRST_L, PM_PWRBTN_L and the 4 PCH's (DC) RTC signals.

I checked these signals / rails:
  • PPVRTC_G3H
  • RTC_RESET_L
  • SRTCRST_L
  • PCH_INTVRMEN
  • PCH_DSWVRMEN
  • PCH_CLK32K_RTCX1 (skipped, my Owon sucks at frequencies)
  • PP3V3_S5
  • PM_DSW_PWRGD
  • PP3V3_SUS
  • PM_BATLOW_L
  • PM_RSMRST_L
  • PM_PWRBTN_L

Next on my list was this:
  • SMC_ADAPTER_EN = 3.42V
  • PM_DSW_PWRGD = 3.42V
  • PM_SLP_SUS_L = 3.3V -> Deep State
  • DCINVSENS_EN_L = 0V
  • SMC_DCIN_VSENSE >= 2.3V && <= 3.3V (Ignored in SMC Bypass mode)
  • P3V3SUS_EN 3.3V
  • PP3V3_SUS = 3.3V
  • PP1V05_SUS = 1.05V
  • PM_RSMRST_L = 3.3V
  • XDP_PCH_TMS = 1.05V
  • XDP_PCH_TDO = 1.05V
  • XDP_PCH_TDI = 1.05V
  • ...
where I stopped at XDP_PCH_TMS b/c signal was fishy. All other signals/rails were like expected and stable.

Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L (at same time).

What's AVREF_SMC voltage?

As I have enough other 00165 boards, i decided it is not viable to invest more time into this issue.

Thank you!
