820-00165 Volumes keys not workin

Hi guys,

Got Macbook air with liquid damage. After repair it everything is working fine except upper line keys ( volume, brightness etc) they are stucked at F1,F2,F3 functions not special keys). It's not software issue, tested customers ssd on my macbook air is ok, testing my ssd on customer macbook also not working. Already tried keyboard, trackpad, flexes and the only thing remains is the logic board. Even activating FN special keys in preferences it is continuing to work like F1, F2, etc.


Any idea what it can be? The logic board seems to be ok visually.


The damage was near backlight ic

Keyboard is not directly connected to MLB.
Keyboard matrix is encoded into trackpad circuitry.
If the keys work, shouldn't be keyboard issue.
Did you try PRAM reset?

Finally solved. It was deffective 3 trackpads. All were new, Extracted used from macook air and now it is working fine. Thanks

The worst thing in this job, wasting time with "new" parts.
You can go crazy, thinking the problem is on other side...
