Working on a Macbook board that came in for no power. Stuck at 5V on USB-C Meter.
No previous repairs or work done too the machine.
Looking under the microscope I found PPBUS_G3H was shorted.
Injected 1V @ 2A and noticed U9080 (ELC180) getting hot. Removed the IC
PPBUS_G3H reads in the Megaohms now so no longer shorted.
L9080 next to the IC was reading 1 Ohm to ground. Lifted the inductor to isolate which side the 1 ohm reading was on and it's the SSD side. Is this a normal reading or are the SSD chips likely toast too?
