Apple hardware test showed error PPN001 there may be a problem with the power management system

PP1V8_S0SW_SSD_COLD is compact to ground

how to start searching wisely?

That is a "perfect" short; luckly low enough to use voltage injection method.
Probably SSD controller (U8600), or a NAND chip; hopeless case...

2informaticos just for curiosity - what would need to be done to replace nand on these? does SPI and CPU is involved?

5A probably is the indication of your PSU.
If is limited at 5A, it doesn't inject anything.
You have a pure short, which requires more than 10A at 1V.

Buy 24V/20A PSU, or 12V/40A (adjustable, of course).
I already posted links on the forum and explained why!
 
U8600 died :-(
motherboard to be used as spare parts
after removing this U8600 the short circuit resolved

Can you give me a link to those of the power supply you wrote about?
